What Was I Thinking?

When I took up knitting again a few years ago, I was desperate to knit anything and let myself think that this pattern was going to look good on me. It is a summer shell knit in summer tweed (I forget the yarn but it is a Classic Elite pattern).

I have never worn it as it looks like heck on - no waist shaping, nothing.

So, what do I do with this? I've never frogged a finished item before - it has side seams etc. Do I give it to charity, do I frog it and re-use the yarn?

What was I thinking????

  1. Rather than fight the seams to frog it, I'd probably give it to charity (unless the yarn is something you really love). We all have a couple of those "What was I thinking" sweaters :-)

  2. It really depends on whether you love the yarn or not. When I reuse my yarn, I always wash it first (in hanks). This will refresh the yarn.

  3. I've frogged many "What what I thinking" items! If you think you'll use the yarn again, just ahead and rip it!

  4. If you love the yarn frog it...if you don't then give it away.

  5. I would frog it. You knit so quickly, you'll repurpose that yarn so quickly. I agree with washing it in hanks first.
